The Iron Age and Bucket-shaped pots

Level: Grades 4. - 7.
Time: approximately 90 minutes

We offer a learning session focusing on the Iron Age in the Dalane-region. After a lecture on the Iron Age, pupils get to try their hand at making bucket-shaped pots. Bucket-shaped pots are a uniquely Norwegian kind of ceramics, made during the Migration Period.

We use the same kinds of tool that were used during the Migration Period. Pupils receive guidance throughout the process, and the activity should be easy enough to follow that anyone can manage it.
